Young Professionals of East Kentucky (YPEK) is hosting its fifth annual YPEK Awards Dinner on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Jackson Energy in London.
The Awards Dinner will be an exciting event to honor the outstanding young professionals across the region as well as to celebrate YPEK’s regional mission to connect, grow, and lead.
The Awards Dinner is open for members and non-members. Tickets are $10 per person.
Jared Arnett will be our guest speaker. Jared Arnett is the founding Executive Director of Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR). Most recently, Arnett, a Pike County native, helped transition the Pike County Chamber of Commerce into the regional Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, where he was CEO. The Chamber has grown to include more than 500 regional businesses.
Maj. General Donald Storm, a Laurel County native, will be our keynote speaker. Gen. Storm has had a 37 year distinguished career in military service. After serving as an enlisted soldier in Vietnam, Gen. Storm enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard, where he has held virtually every major post. In 2003, he was appointed to the Kentucky Guard's top spot as Kentucky's 51st Adjutant General. Gen. Storm has received numerous military awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal, with two Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters.
